ARREL Audio devices are designed and hand-assembled in Italy with the minimum presence of cabling. It means that the systems are more robust and less susceptible to the degradation of the audio signal. ARREL audio devices are designed utilizing mostly through-hole components (THT Through Hole Technology) which provide strong mechanical performances when compared to Surface Mount Technology (SMT) techniques. Moreover, no custom electromechanical components are used in ARREL Audio apparatuses in order to offer easy maintainance.

    ARREL Audio Key Technologies

  • MODULAR TECHNOLOGY (MOD)

Modular means that the unit can be custom configured by choosing the right module from a set of standard modules or by choosing custom designed modules suitable for specific applications.
  • FULLY BALANCED SUMMING BUS (FBSB)

The summing busses in the ARREL Audio units are implemented by using active fully balanced summing busses for maximum audio performances and noise rejection.
  • LARGE BANDWIDTH (LBW)

Large Bandwidth (LB) means a very fast transient response able to represent the original sound with the maximum temporal resolution. LB is required to improve the perception of a “real sound” and to represent the details of the original sound.
  • PERFECT SQUARE WAVE (PSW)

Large bandwidth plus very low total harmonic distortion means a perfect square wave reproduction.
  • ULTRA LOW NOISE (ULN)

Ultra Low Noise (ULN) active and passive components and ULN design techniques. This requirement is especially important when the audio bandwidth is large as in the case of ARREL Audio products.
  • HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE (HDR)

High Dynamic Range (HDR) means that the saturation probability of the output stages is very low. This is obtained by using special rail to rail circuits and by increasing the power supply voltage of the analog circuits.
  • VERY HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE (VHDR)

Very High Dynamic Range (VHDR) means that the saturation probability of the output stages is extremely low. This is obtained by using special rail to rail circuits and by increasing the power supply voltage of the analog circuits.
  • ELECTROMECHANICAL FAULT TOLERANCE (EFT)

Electromechanical tolerance means that electromechanical components are doubled in every situation in which maximum reliability it is important due to a frequent use (switches, push buttons, potentiometers).
  • THROUGH-HOLE TECHNOLOGY (THT)

Through Hole technology means the maximum reliability in terms of thermal and mechanical stresses especially for connectors and electromechanical components.
  • LOW PHASE DISTORTION EQ (LPHD EQ)

Special patented circuits guarantees very low phase distortion in ARREL equalizers and filters.
  • FRONT PANEL BANTAM INSERT TECHNOLOGY (FPBIT)

This technology in the 500 compatible series means that the modules can be cabled on the front panel by using bantam connectors without accessing the launch-box back panel. This is very useful in the needs of “on the fly” connections.
  • NO INPUT PAD TECHNOLOGY (NIP)

In the ARREL preamplifiers, special input circuits and a high output dynamic range output stage guarantees no saturation, consequently the input pad is not required.
  • INCREASED POWER SUPPLY 500 TECHNOLOGY (IPS-500)

This technology permits to power the ARREL Audio series 500 compatible modules at ±24 V with respect to ±16 V volts of the traditional launch-box obtaining a maximum output level of +32 dBu avoiding any saturation. The special circuit that increases the power supply is inside the ARREL Audio modules so traditional launch-boxes can be used.
